It’s been 9 months since I launched TagTexter and it’s been an amazing journey. TagTexter didn’t make me millions of dollars as I hoped, but it did give me enough courage to chase my dreams.  It’s been amazing and EPIC trip these past 9 months, but it hasn’t been easy. 

Being an entrepreneur requires great sacrifice in order to succeed and I’m pretty sure at this point it’s just the way the Universe works. I think it goes back to the old saying “nothing is free”! You have to work hard and sacrifice, plus if you don’t have skin in the game how are you ever going to convince an investor to invest in you? I have been bootstrapping my business the entire way.  Finding any and every way to survive! When I decided to quit my day job in June I evaluated everything of value that I currently owned.  Over the years I had accumulated a large collection of Air Jordan’s, over 100 pairs to be exact. I also owned a 1962 Impala that I bought right after High School. These were by far my most valuable material possessions I could sell in order to pay for my venture. I started slowly and painfully selling my Jordan’s to pay bills to allow me to focus full time on my own company, Dropost.it.   So here we are 9 months later and it’s been a journey starting with pitching dropost.it at Start Up Weekend, then getting accepted into Gazelle Labs, pitching out at VC Bait during X.Commerce in California and now currently raising our first round of funding. I currently now have 8 pairs of Jordan’s left and last week I made the hardest sacrifice, I sold my 62…. But let me tell you that each time throughout this journey when I had to sell my most important possessions the Universe some how provided me with a wide open door to opportunity as if something or someone is watching and knows when you are all in need.
